The most frequently asked question I get from potential clients is how I make my subjects feel comfortable. And the answer is pretty simple – I’m a human first, photographer second. while I’m photographing you during a session I’ll be asking about your first date, your pets, your favorite things to do together, the restaurants you tried recently, your summer travel plans, favorite dad jokes, and by the time our session is done, it usually feels like we’ve known each other for years. Somehow in between all the conversation I’ll snap photos that feel like you and your person were just strolling through a neighborhood you love, enjoying your time together – just accompanied by an old friend.
This camaraderie usually results in trust – trust that I’ll make sure your hair looks good and comb it out of the way if it doesn’t, trust that I won’t make you do any weird poses that doesn’t feel true to you, trust that when I’m hyping you up saying you look hot that I really mean it, trust to be yourselves.
My goal is to always create galleries for my clients that represent who they are and let the best and most unique aspects of their relationship shine through in the photos. Ally & Daniel are giggly (but seriously how infectious are these smiles), fun-loving, Christmas and coffee shop obsessed, with a special connection to Beacon Hill, even after living in LA for the past few years. I think we hit the nail on the head with these 🙂
